Our Story:

 

How we started

 

Dutch Girls Baking Co started with a mom and 3 daughters as we watched our favorite shows Ace of Cakes, Food Network Challenges  and, of course, Cupcake Wars.  We started to make our own birthday cakes with an undecorated white frosted  Costco sheet cake.  Then we would copy all that we saw "Duff" do. We really miss Ace of Cakes.  Eventually our decorations became more elaborate and our homemade cakes and cupcakes more flavorful.  Would we ever want to go on Cupcake Wars? Absolutely not. The thought of trying to make cupcakes with fish and nacho cheese sauce makes our stomachs turn. However, with the encouragement of family, friends and co-workers, the idea of Dutch Girls was born.

Although my daughters are now grown and away at college, I (Mom) still enjoy custom baking. I am proud to say my day job is a school nurse, but evenings and weekends I can usually be found in the kitchen baking and decorating. I only book one wedding or 2-3 party cakes per weekend, so it is best to book ahead, although sometimes I am able to accommodate last minute requests.
